Ludhaina, March 22: What began as a routine emergency call for a Ludhiana-based doctor has resulted in a cinematic appearance in the high-profile Bollywood sequel “Dhurandhar 2.” Dr. Sunny Ashok, a medical officer in the Pakhowal area, found himself acting alongside Ranveer Singh after successfully treating a member of the cast for a head injury during filming in July 2025.

The production, which utilized various locations across Punjab including Shahnewal Airport, required immediate medical attention when actor Arjun Rampal was injured during a stunt. Dr. Ashok affirmed that he was able to stabilize the actor on-site, preventing the need for more intensive hospital intervention.

“All were happy that he was okay,” Dr. Ashok stated, describing the relief felt by the production team after his medical assessment.

Following this interaction, the doctor was invited back to the set where Ranveer Singh proposed the idea of a cameo. Dr. Ashok asserted that he initially believed the actor was joking until Director Aditya Dhar integrated him into a scene. The role required Dr. Ashok to provide medical attention to Singh’s character in a segment filmed in a single take.

The doctor declared that the experience provided a unique look at the film industry. He affirmed that the lead actors were “down to earth” despite their stardom. The incident has resonated with the local community, as Dr. Ashok’s family already holds a historical connection to the industry through his father’s friendship with veteran actor Dharmendra.

The physician noted that the brief screen moment has sparked significant interest among his colleagues and neighbors in Ludhiana. He maintained that the authenticity of the scene was maintained by his natural professional response to the scripted medical situation.
