SRINAGAR, May 7 — All Haj flights scheduled from Srinagar have been cancelled until May 9, 2025, due to the temporary closure of the airport, the Haj Committee of India (HCoI) said on Wednesday.
In a circular accessed by JKNS, the HCoI stated: “In view of NOTAM A0976/25 concerning the temporary closure of Srinagar Airport, Haj flights from the Srinagar Embarkation Point have been cancelled until 9th May 2025.”
The committee said the situation is being closely monitored, and alternative travel plans for affected pilgrims are “under active consideration in close coordination with various stakeholders.”
Reassuring pilgrims, the circular added, “The Haj Committee of India remains fully committed to ensuring the successful pilgrimage of all Haj pilgrims.”
Pilgrims have been advised to remain in contact with the Jammu & Kashmir State Haj Committee for regular updates regarding revised travel schedules.
The HCoI has also urged the J&K Haj Committee to swiftly communicate these developments to all concerned pilgrims and provide timely updates on any changes.
