Hisar, Sept 9 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said the state has prepared a “solid roadmap for Viksit Haryana” to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony of drone pilots and technicians, Saini distributed certificates to 252 drone pilots and 136 drone technicians certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). He highlighted efforts to make Haryana a hub of drone technology, innovation, and emerging technologies.

The country’s first drone manufacturing technology hub is being established at Sisai village in Hisar district and is set to be the largest in South Asia, providing facilities for manufacturing, repair, and training. On the occasion, the CM also e-launched five drones for the armed forces and virtually inaugurated the ‘Agriculture Drone Pavilion’ of AVPL International, a drone manufacturing and training firm.

Of the 388 certified drone pilots and technicians, 53 are women, an example of promoting women’s empowerment, Saini said. He added that schemes launched by the Prime Minister, such as ‘Namo Drone Didi’ and ‘Kisan Drone,’ are helping rural communities and farmers save time and labour while increasing production and income.

Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh noted that although Haryana represents less than two per cent of the country’s population, the state has played a leading role across sectors. He said the drone hub will inject new speed and energy into the state’s technological growth.
