Amritsar, November 14: The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered heroin valued at ₹8 crore near Pandori, a border village in Amritsar district, officials confirmed.
The seizure followed reports of a drone dropping a 2-kilogram package in the area. Alerted by local intelligence, BSF personnel conducted a search operation and confiscated the consignment.
“This is the first time a heroin package has been intercepted via drone in Pandori,” said a senior BSF officer. Authorities noted that the incident signals a shift in smuggling tactics along the border.
Officials said the operation reflects enhanced vigilance and monitoring of cross-border drone activity to prevent narcotics trafficking in the region.
