Saharanpur, June 6: An Apache attack helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) made a precautionary landing in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur on Friday morning due to a technical issue encountered during a routine sortie, officials confirmed.
The landing occurred around 11 a.m., and both the pilot and co-pilot were unharmed, a senior IAF official said. “An IAF Apache helicopter made a precautionary landing in Saharanpur due to a technical issue. The crew is safe,” the official stated.
Following the landing, IAF personnel conducted all necessary technical inspections on the aircraft. The helicopter was declared serviceable shortly afterward and subsequently flown to the Sarsawa airbase in Uttar Pradesh.
The IAF said such precautionary landings are standard procedure to ensure flight safety and avoid potential hazards during operations.
