Jalandhar Industrialist Nitin Kohli Joins AAP

by TheReportingTimes

Jalandhar, May 29 – In a major political development ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, Jalandhar-based industrialist and Punjab Hockey President Nitin Kohli has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Kohli was formally inducted into the party by AAP’s Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia. Soon after, he was appointed as the in-charge of the Central Halqa constituency, signaling the party’s move to replace the current MLA, Raman Arora, who is under arrest in a corruption case.

Kohli will open an office in the constituency and begin public outreach to address people’s concerns. His induction marks AAP’s renewed focus on clean governance and fresh leadership.

Responding to questions on Arora’s future, AAP state president Aman Arora said, “The government has acted against Raman Arora for his mistake. The party has now handed over the responsibility of the constituency to Nitin Kohli. What more clarity do you want?”

He further added, “Whoever is found involved in corruption will not be spared. The party stands firm on its zero-tolerance policy.”

With this reshuffle, AAP appears determined to send a strong message ahead of 2027 — that clean leadership will be non-negotiable.
