NEW DELHI, AUAGUS 13: The 19-day Monsoon Session of Parliament came to a close on Thursday after clearing 11 Bills in the Lok Sabha amid continuous political debates over multiple national issues. Legislative outcomes spanned several sectors, including the MSME Development Amendment Bill, the Supreme Court Number of Judges Amendment Bill, and the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, the latter of which was also cleared by the Rajya Sabha on the final day.
Throughout the sittings, several legislative items moved swiftly through the parliamentary process, with brief discussion times allocated before passage during house floor demonstrations. Meanwhile, Opposition leadership maintained focus on seeking administrative responses regarding student demonstrations and educational examination systems.
“The Home Ministry remains ready to participate in structured discussions and address every query raised by the members,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared during proceedings leading up to the final day.
The session demonstrated structured legislative handling on complex policy matters when the FCRA Amendment Bill was assigned to a Joint Parliamentary Committee, allowing panel members extended time to inspect its provisions before returning it to the floor.
Question Hour saw reduced activity throughout the 19 sittings, marking three consecutive weeks where the morning session could not proceed to full completion before the final adjournment sine die.
