New Delhi, Oct 21: Magisterial authorities in Delhi have deferred their ruling on extending the judicial detention of Cockroach Janta Party representatives Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.
Police officials requested an additional three-day extension of custody, maintaining that the initial detention period stemming from alleged peace bond violations at Jantar Mantar required further administrative processing. The political figures were presented before the Special Executive Magistrate alongside relevant legal documentation and surety filings.
Higher judicial forums upheld the procedural framework, declaring that lower magisterial forums must first complete their review of the custody applications. Officials affirmed that legal remedies remain accessible through established appellate channels should the parties seek further review following the magistrate’s final order.
