Chandigarh: In an early campaign movement ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party announced its first batch of 40 prospective candidates following high-level deliberations in New Delhi. Headlining the slate is Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who is set to seek re-election from his current constituency of Dhuri.
According to party officials, the decision to publish candidate names well ahead of the election schedule provides nominees a distinct timeframe to present administrative performance across rural and urban centers. Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Mann emphasized that candidate selections reflect public survey inputs across the 40 constituencies.
The list encompasses several prominent representatives across key regions, including Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar from Amritsar South, Sanjeev Arora from Ludhiana West, and Ajitpal Singh Kohli from Patiala. AAP leadership expressed strong confidence in returning to power, directing campaign teams to intensify outreach across all constituency segments.
