CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party defended Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday, asserting that the Shiromani Akali Dal is attempting to create a political narrative through baseless accusations because it cannot match the development work of the present government. AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu stated that unverified audio clips and claims are being circulated to defame the Chief Minister’s family. He declared that the people of Punjab understand the political motivations behind these personal attacks and will not be misled by such maneuvers.
Releasing photographic evidence to the press, Pannu showcased interactions between Akali leaders and individuals central to the current political debate, including Guri Chahal, Amardeep Grewal, and Hundal. Pannu challenged Akali leaders to explain how these figures had access to their residences and social functions before making allegations against others. He further asserted that Bikram Singh Majithia must explain his past ties with controversial figures such as Satta and Pindi, alongside clarifying the source of his substantial financial growth over the last two decades.
Reflecting on past administrations, Pannu affirmed that the state suffered greatly under the previous regime, particularly through the decline of public education, healthcare, and transport systems. He contrasted that record with the progress made under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, noting significant improvements in basic infrastructure, school transformations, and public health delivery. Pannu concluded that no amount of political mudslinging can obscure the visible achievements of the current administration, reaffirming the party’s commitment to delivering accountable governance across Punjab.
