Tarn Taran, November 3 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann turned the streets of Tarn Taran yellow and green on Monday as he led a spirited roadshow in support of AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sidhu ahead of the upcoming by-election.

Waving to crowds from an open vehicle, Mann urged residents to “vote for the broom to secure their children’s future,” promising that the Aam Aadmi Party would continue its push for development and welfare in the border district.

In a major announcement during the rally, Mann said the government would soon roll out ₹1,000 monthly financial assistance for women, to be implemented through the next state budget. “All our guarantees will be fulfilled within five years — step by step,” he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted key achievements of his tenure, including free electricity, youth employment, and improved school infrastructure, asserting that “Punjab is moving forward after years of struggle.”

“If a child in a household gets a job, the atmosphere of the entire family changes,” he said, striking an emotional chord with the crowd.

The by-election in Tarn Taran, scheduled for November 11, has turned into a prestige contest for AAP, as opposition parties intensify campaigns in the region.
