Chandigarh, Dec. 29: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Monday reviewed the progress of 1,100 Anganwadi centres under construction across the state, directing officials to ensure timely completion of the projects.
The review took place during a departmental meeting at Vikas Bhawan in SAS Nagar, where officials presented updates on infrastructure development being carried out in rural areas.

“Anganwadi centres are essential for child welfare and community services, and any delay affects service delivery at the village level,” Sond said, asking officers to maintain momentum on the ground.
Apart from Anganwadi projects, the minister also reviewed several other major and minor development works being undertaken by the department. He instructed officers to strengthen supervision and address administrative delays where required.
Senior officials, including Administrative Secretary Ajit Balaji Joshi, Joint Development Commissioner Shena Aggarwal, Punjab Development Commission member Anurag Kundu, Director Uma Shankar Gupta and Chief Engineer Karanpal Singh Chahal, were present.
