MUMBAI, October 13 — Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, turned heads at designer Manish Malhotra’s Diwali celebration with a dazzling display of style, where her accessories arguably outshone her outfit.
The highlight of her ensemble was an ultra-rare Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin, valued at roughly $2 million USD, or Rs 17 crore in Indian currency. Crafted from white gold and encrusted with 2,712 diamonds, the miniature Birkin is one of only three diamond-studded pieces in existence worldwide.
Unlike conventional handbags, the Sac Bijou Birkin is designed to be worn as a bracelet, transforming the accessory into a wearable piece of art. The intricate craftsmanship of Hermès is evident in its detailed crocodile leather texture, diamond-studded body, handles, lock, and clochette.
Ambani paired the bag with a silver sequin saree and heart-shaped Colombian emerald earrings, combining elegance with a statement-making flair. Fashion experts noted that the ensemble exemplified how luxury accessories can elevate an already glamorous look.
The Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin, with its rare diamonds and unique design, underscored Ambani’s reputation as a style icon and a connoisseur of high-end fashion. The Diwali bash offered a glimpse of how couture, craftsmanship, and celebrity style intersect on India’s grand social stage.
