Tarn Taran, Feb 9: Authorities in Tarn Taran are probing a suspected case of one-sided love following a violent shooting that claimed the lives of two first-year law students on Monday. Police officials stated that the accused, Prince Raj, died in the hospital after earlier shooting his classmate, Sandeep Kaur, and then turning the weapon on himself.

The sequence of events unfolded in a classroom at a law college in Usma village. Witnesses reported that Raj targeted Kaur before lectures began, shooting her in the head. He then used the same recovered pistol to inflict a self-inflicted wound.

“Preliminary police investigation suggests that the horrific incident may have stemmed from an alleged case of one-sided love,” SSP Surinder Lamba directly said.

The investigation has now shifted toward identifying the source of the weapon and the failure of campus security. SSP Lamba noted that the police are looking into how Raj managed to access the college grounds while armed.

“A detailed probe is underway from all angles, including how the accused procured the firearm,” the SSP noted during the site inspection.

Forensic experts have processed the scene, and the weapon used in the crime is now in police custody. While the college remains under heavy guard, the bodies have been sent for medical examination to assist in the ongoing legal inquiry into the deaths.
