Precautionary Evacuations as Chandigarh Schools Receive New Threats

Bomb Squads Clear Multiple Campuses After Provocative Messages

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, April 16  — Local police and bomb disposal units were placed on high alert Thursday morning following the delivery of fresh threat emails to schools across the city. Saupin’s School in Sector 32 was confirmed as one of the primary recipients of the digital messages, which led to immediate safety protocols being enacted by school administrators and security forces.

Though the search operations concluded with all sites being declared safe, the incident caused significant concern among parents and staff. Police sources noted that the content of the emails appeared specifically intended to disturb the peace, mirroring the tactics used in a series of hoax threats documented earlier this month.

Previous investigations into similar alerts on April 7 traced the threats back to a specific unidentified email account that had also mentioned targeting the Mayor’s office and Panjab University’s Gandhi Bhawan. Despite the frequent nature of these disruptions, officials affirmed that every alert is treated with the utmost seriousness until cleared by technical teams.

District authorities asserted that the situation is under control and requested that the public refrain from spreading unverified information. A spokesperson for the security forces declared that efforts are being intensified to identify those responsible for the repeated harassment of educational institutions.
