by TheReportingTimes

NEW DELHI, Nov 28 — Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India on December 4-5 for the annual leaders’ summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed Friday.

The summit will review progress in India-Russia ties, set the vision for a strengthened “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership,” and discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Randhir Jaiswal, MEA spokesperson, said, “Both countries are working hard on making this a success. We expect an improvement in ties when President Putin visits.”

During the visit, President Droupadi Murmu will host a state banquet for Putin. Despite US threats to widen sanctions on Russia, officials said India and Russia are exploring deeper collaboration across defence, nuclear power, aviation, and economic sectors.

Key agreements may be signed, potentially including expansion of BrahMos missile systems, Sukhoi-30MKI upgrades, additional S-400 air defence missiles, and possible domestic production of the Sukhoi-57E stealth fighter.
