Repertoire of cultural, folk music as Patiala Mela enters 4th day

Administrative efforts praised as Harbhajan Mann headlines cultural evening

Patiala, Feb 24: The ongoing Punjab Sakhi Shakti Craft Mela at the historic Sheesh Mahal recorded one of its highest attendance figures on its fourth day. The day’s activities concluded with a lively performance by singer Harbhajan Mann, who treated the audience to a repertoire of cultural and folk-inspired music.

MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli praised the Patiala administration’s role in organizing the event, declaring it a landmark success for the local community. He asserted that the government’s focus on cultural revival through the “Rangla Punjab” initiative is being well-received by the people. Chief spokesperson Baltej Pannu also maintained that the administration’s efforts to create a colorful and culturally rich environment are significant.

During the musical session, Harbhajan Mann performed favorites such as “Daas Kudiyeh Ni Daas Kudiyeh” and “Massya Wargi Chunni.” Organizers noted that the singer’s commitment to family-friendly lyrics aligned with the festival’s goal of providing a wholesome environment for visitors of all ages.

“The Punjab Sakhi Shakti Craft Mela being organized under the Rangla Punjab concept is proving to be important for the people of Patiala,” stated ADC Damanjit Singh Mann while addressing the guests. He affirmed that the blend of traditional craftsmanship and music has made the fair a major attraction in the region.

The ceremony saw the presence of numerous officials, including SDMs Naman Markan and Ashok Kumar, alongside Deputy Mayor Jagdeep Singh Jagga. Authorities declared that the financial and cultural impact of the fair is evident in the sustained high turnout recorded since the opening day.
