Satellite imagery shows extensive damage in Pakistan

by TheReportingTimes

NEW DELHI, May 8 – High-resolution satellite images released by Maxar Technologies and reviewed by Reuters confirm that Indian precision strikes under Operation Sindoor have destroyed key terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan.

The strikes were carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, targeting strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Bahawalpur and Muridke.

The Indian military action was in direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead, most of them tourists.

Visual comparisons of satellite images show before-and-after shots of the Markaz Subhan Allah mosque complex in Bahawalpur—JeM’s main operational base—depicting extensive structural devastation.

“This was the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed, targeted by Indian Armed Forces,” Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said during a press briefing held hours after the operation. “Located around 100 kilometers inside Pakistani territory, it served as a hub for training and planning terror strikes, including the Pulwama attack in 2019.”

Markaz Subhan Allah, active since 2015, has long been identified by Indian intelligence as a key center for indoctrination and militant coordination. Its destruction marks a significant strategic blow to JeM’s presence in Pakistan.

Similarly, sites linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, long known to house logistical and operational arms of the group, were also struck.

While Pakistani officials have yet to issue a detailed response, regional observers are monitoring the situation for any signs of retaliation or escalation.

The Indian Army has not disclosed the number of missiles used or the precise assets involved in the operation, but defense sources confirmed the strikes were surgical and based on actionable intelligence.

This marks one of the deepest cross-border strikes since the Balakot operation in 2019, and officials indicated that further action will be considered if provocation continues. “We will act whenever national security is threatened,” Col. Qureshi added.
