SULTANPUR LODHI, September 7— Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood on Sunday assured full support to farmers and families displaced by floods in Sultanpur Lodhi, where several houses collapsed after the Beas river overflowed.
Responding to an appeal from Charanjit Masih, chairman of the Christian Youth Fellowship Punjab, Sood, along with his sister Malvika Sood, visited the affected villages of Mand Baupur and Sangra to assess the damage.
“Nature’s fury has caused immense loss and it is our duty to stand with our farmer brothers. The Sood Foundation will rebuild homes and provide every possible assistance once the water recedes,” Sood said, urging residents not to lose hope. “You will not be left alone in this crisis.”
Local leaders, including Nambardar Kuldeep Singh Sangra and Paramjit Singh, joined the survey of damaged areas.
Charanjit Singh, a youth leader from the region, thanked the Sood Foundation for its assurance, noting that farmers in Mand Baupur and surrounding villages have suffered extensive losses.
