Mohali: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann rolled out the distribution drive for 1.26 crore Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna cards, expanding cashless health coverage for 54 lakh families. Speaking at the launch event in SAS Nagar, the Chief Minister declared that state healthcare policies are designed to ensure no resident faces financial distress while seeking essential medical treatment.
The scheme provides unconditional coverage across government and private hospitals without requiring premium payments from beneficiaries. Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that over 7 lakh citizens have benefited from the program so far, receiving specialized medical care supported by state expenditure.
The Chief Minister asserted that primary healthcare accessibility has also improved across urban and rural pockets through 1,100 functional Aam Aadmi Clinics, which have recorded approximately 5.5 crore OPD visits. He added that combining primary care clinics with high-value health cards ensures comprehensive coverage at every tier of medical need.
To ensure complete coverage, field teams will visit households directly and hold organized camps in over 1,800 villages to hand over card kits to eligible residents. Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that public resources are being effectively utilized to build robust social security infrastructure across the state.
