NEW DELHI, JULY 23: Punjab’s public education sector recorded a major milestone as 881 students from state government schools successfully qualified the NEET examination. Releasing the figures, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal noted that the state saw fewer than 100 successful candidates annually prior to the leadership change in 2022, attributing the sharp rise to systematic upgrades in school infrastructure and teaching standards.
The achievement reflects a broader policy shift aimed at extending high-caliber academic preparation to children from underprivileged households. Social mobility through quality education was identified as the central driver of the administration’s policy framework.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate all the successful students and their parents. The Aam Aadmi Party places the highest priority on education. We believe that until the education system is improved, the country cannot truly progress,” Arvind Kejriwal asserted, maintaining that transforming government-run schools is essential for national development.
Echoing these views, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann commended the students and their families for their perseverance and late-night preparation. He noted that academic excellence among children from economically weaker backgrounds remains the key factor in systematically reducing poverty across the state.
“Punjab is now emerging as the number one state in education. Arvind Kejriwal’s dream has always been to educate the entire country because education is the greatest force for change,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann affirmed.
The Chief Minister added that high-level employment opportunities following admission into top medical and technical institutes offer sustainable growth for families. “When your children become doctors, secure admission to the IITs, and are hired by leading companies on salary packages of ₹50 lakh or ₹1 crore, only then will this country truly become a Vishwaguru,” Bhagwant Mann declared.
