Tarn Taran, Nov 2: A family in Patti faced tragedy on Sunday after two brothers were found dead in their shared room, with relatives attributing the deaths to substance addiction.

The victims were identified as 36-year-old Gurdeep Singh and 28-year-old Sona Singh.

According to statements by the deceased’s sister Satwinder Kaur and mother Surinder Kaur, both men worked daily wage jobs to support the household. Relatives stated that the brothers retired to their room on Saturday night after taking intoxicants, but failed to wake up the next morning.

The family relies on temporary shelter provided within the Taran Wala Government Elementary School block office premises due to economic hardship. Following the loss of both earning members, the family urged social organizations and officials to step in to provide relief and cover educational costs for Gurdeep Singh’s three children.
