Chandigarh, July 17 — Residents of Manimajra are set to experience water supply disruptions on July 18 and 19 due to urgent maintenance work on a water pipeline near the newly constructed truss bridge on the Shastri Nagar causeway.
According to the municipal engineering department, the repairs are essential and will affect both timing and pressure of the water supply.
On July 18, residents will receive water from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. at normal pressure, but the evening supply—from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.—will be at low pressure. The situation is expected to worsen the following day.
“There will be no water supply on the morning of July 19,” an official from the department confirmed. “In the evening, supply will resume, but pressure will remain low.”
Authorities have urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and cooperate during the temporary inconvenience. The repair work is being undertaken to ensure long-term infrastructure safety and uninterrupted future supply.
