JALANDHAR, 14 Aug — Jagdeep Kumar, a resident of Goraya, has intensified efforts to locate his brother Mandeep Kumar, who is believed to be stuck in Russia under uncertain circumstances. In his latest outreach, Jagdeep met MDMK MP Durai Vaiko to raise the plight of Indians missing or stranded in Russia, securing assurances of continued support.

“MP Vaiko was very supportive. He even took up the matter with the Prime Minister and has been consistently helping us,” Jagdeep said.

Mandeep, who initially travelled to Armenia in search of work, reportedly came into contact with a travel agent who promised to send him to Italy. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown. Jagdeep has already travelled to Russia in search of his brother and has maintained constant contact with Indian authorities for updates.

In addition to meeting Vaiko, Jagdeep recently met senior Congress leader Raja Warring, who extended his backing and held a press conference to highlight the issue. On Thursday, Jagdeep will again travel to New Delhi for his eighth meeting with Ministry of External Affairs officials, hopeful of new information.

Jagdeep described the toll on his family. “Every time I go home, they look at me with hope that I will give them good news,” he said.
