Medical Delays Compound Trauma for Six-Year-Old Panchkula School Assault Victim

Panchkula, Oct 31: Mounting scrutiny has fallen upon the administration of Government Sanskriti Model School in Sector 20, Panchkula, following allegations of medical negligence and delayed emergency care for a six-year-old student assaulted on campus. Relatives revealed that over 30 minutes of vital medical treatment time was lost as school staff debated care expenses at a private facility before transferring the injured child to public hospitals.

The girl’s family confirmed that while she is now out of danger at PGIMER Chandigarh, she remains severely traumatized, having sustained a nasal fracture and multiple head lacerations requiring stitches. The assault reportedly transpired when a Class 3 student lured the girl into an upper-floor classroom following a verbal altercation, subsequently attacking her with a brick and flower pot.

The victim’s father has formally submitted a police complaint detailing both the physical attack and the subsequent delays in emergency response. The family continues to call for immediate legal and disciplinary measures against the school principal and oversight personnel for failing to ensure student safety and swift medical intervention.
