Delhi HC to hear plea on IndiGo cancellations on Dec. 10

by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi, Dec. 8: The Delhi High Court on Monday agreed to take up on December 10 a public interest plea seeking central government support and refunds for passengers hit by IndiGo’s continuing wave of flight cancellations.

A Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela scheduled the hearing after the matter was mentioned for urgent listing. The petition argues that thousands of travellers have been left without assistance as the airline cancels hundreds of flights across the country.

The plea comes amid mounting frustration among passengers after IndiGo’s operational breakdown entered its seventh straight day. More than 250 flights were cancelled from Delhi and Bengaluru on Monday, adding to the nationwide disruptions.

The High Court will hear the request for directions to the Centre to step in as passengers continue to face delays, missed connections, and financial losses.
