AMRITSAR, Jan 3 — As part of an ongoing probe into the disappearance of 328 saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, a Special Investigation Team on Wednesday conducted coordinated searches at about 15 locations across Punjab and Chandigarh.

Police said the searches targeted residential and office premises associated with 16 accused named in the case. The operations were spread across Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ropar and Chandigarh.

Supervising the investigation, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the SIT was following due process and collecting all material evidence linked to the case.

“The investigation is being carried out strictly in accordance with the law, and all available evidence will be placed on record,” Bhullar said.

He reiterated that the probe would not be influenced by any external pressure and would be pursued until its conclusion.

“We will take the investigation to its logical conclusion. Anyone found guilty will face action, regardless of their position or influence,” Bhullar said.

The missing saroops case has drawn sustained public attention, with the SIT tasked with establishing responsibility and ensuring accountability.
