President Murmu lauds female academic excellence in Punjab

Amritsar, Jan 15: During her visit to Guru Nanak Dev University, President Draupadi Murmu lauded the overwhelming success of female students, noting that they represent the backbone of the nation’s future workforce. The President observed that 99 percent of the students receiving awards for academic excellence were girls, calling the achievement a definitive sign of empowerment through education.

In a light-hearted moment, the President suggested that the university deserved additional credit in its NAAC accreditation due to the high performance of its female scholars. She mentioned that women constitute half of the nation’s potential workforce and are essential to achieving the goals of the “Viksit Bharat” initiative.

“Education is not just meant for making a living, but also for contributing towards making the nation better,” the President said.

She urged the graduating class to move toward the future with a scientific temperament and a deep sense of responsibility toward the country. The President noted that true progress is defined by inclusivity, ensuring that no section of society is left behind as the nation advances.
