Bahadurgarh, JAN 22: A devastating fire at a shoe manufacturing unit in Bahadurgarh resulted in the deaths of two laborers and left another fighting for his life. The incident occurred in the early hours of the day at the Modern Industrial Area, prompting a large-scale response from local fire services and law enforcement.

The victims, Abdul Atwaris and Amiruddin, were reportedly asleep inside the facility when the fire started at approximately 5 a.m. Despite the rapid arrival of emergency teams, the intensity of the flames led to the immediate death of the two men. Their colleague, Arif, managed to escape the building but suffered extensive burns and is currently undergoing intensive care at a local medical facility.

The fire department spent several hours battling the blaze before it was safe enough to enter the structure. Fire Officer Ravinder Kumar stated that the bodies of the two employees were recovered from the interior of the factory once the fire was extinguished.

The police have secured the site and are looking into potential causes, including electrical short circuits or storage of flammable materials. No official cause has been confirmed at this stage.

Mohsin Khan, a relative of the deceased men, shared that the family had recently traveled back from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, to resume their duties. “They had returned to work in Bahadurgarh from their village two days ago,” Khan noted while mourning the loss.

The local administration is coordinating with the factory owners as part of the ongoing probe. Police personnel confirmed that the management is being questioned regarding the presence of workers on the premises during non-operational hours and the status of fire safety clearances.

The bodies remain at the civil hospital pending further legal formalities.
