Ghaziabad, Feb 4: Three young sisters died after jumping from the ninth floor of their apartment building in Ghaziabad’s Crossings Republik area early Wednesday morning. The sisters, identified as Vishika, 16, Prachi, 14, and Pakhi, 12, reportedly took the step following a domestic dispute regarding their preoccupation with online mobile games.
The incident occurred at approximately 2 am within the Bharat City residential township. Local authorities arrived at the scene after residents reported a loud noise coming from the courtyard. Officers discovered the bodies of the three minors within the complex grounds and shifted them for post-mortem examinations.
Police investigations suggest the sisters had developed a deep fixation on a task-based “Korean love game” during the pandemic. This habit led to irregular school attendance and sparked frequent concerns from their parents. On Tuesday night, a fresh argument broke out over their screen time, leading to the late-night tragedy.
Assistant Police Commissioner Atul Kumar Singh confirmed the identities of the deceased and noted the inseparable bond the sisters shared in their daily lives.
“The three sisters were extremely close and did everything together, including bathing, eating, going to school and sleeping,” Singh said.
The Assistant Police Commissioner further mentioned that the parents had previously counseled the girls about their studies and tried to limit their gaming. Efforts to understand the full nature of the online tasks the girls were performing are currently part of the ongoing investigation.
