Amritsar, Feb 6: The Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a smuggling attempt late Wednesday night, recovering over half a kilogram of suspected heroin near the Pul Moran border outpost. The contraband was reportedly delivered via a drone from across the border before being seized by personnel on patrol.

The recovery was led by BSF ASI Arun Singh and his team, who discovered a sealed packet containing approximately 541 grams of the narcotic substance. Following the seizure, the federal force coordinated with local law enforcement to initiate a formal criminal investigation into the aerial drop.

Police officials confirmed that the narcotics have been secured as evidence and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. “BSF ASI Arun Singh, along with accompanying staff, handed over a sealed packet containing 541 grams of suspected heroin for further legal action,” an official noted regarding the transfer of the seized material.

Investigative teams are now working to decode the flight path of the drone and identify the local contacts intended to receive the shipment. Authorities mentioned that the probe will focus on tracing the network involved in this cross-border activity. “Further investigation is under way to ascertain the source, intended destination and any possible cross-border links related to the seizure,” a police spokesperson said.
