Chandigarh Water Pressure To Drop

Residents advised to conserve water during three-day maintenance period

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, Feb 11: Chandigarh residents will experience low-pressure water supply during evening hours from February 11 to 13 as the Municipal Corporation carries out urgent infrastructure work. The disruption is necessary to facilitate the repair and replacement of the Phase-III pipeline located near Darpan Colony and the Madauli railway line.

“The MC has requested all residents to co-operate and bear with the inconvenience during this essential maintenance work,” an official spokesperson noted. During this 72-hour window, water pumping from the Kajauli Phase-III line to the Sector 39 waterworks will be completely suspended to allow technical teams to access the damaged sections.

The Municipal Corporation has released a specific schedule to help citizens manage their daily needs. On February 11 and 12, water will be available at full pressure from 3:30 am to 9 am, while evening supply between 6 pm and 8:30 pm will be at significantly reduced pressure. On February 13, the morning supply at full pressure will start slightly later at 4:30 am and continue until 9 am, with the evening low-pressure window remaining the same.

Authorities have advised households to store sufficient water in advance to mitigate the impact of the shutdown. The maintenance work is part of an ongoing effort to ensure the long-term reliability of the city’s primary water distribution network.
