Patiala, Feb 11: To strengthen grassroots healthcare, the Punjab Ayurveda Department organized a comprehensive medical camp in Challela village today. The event focused on providing integrated Ayurvedic and Homeopathic care, also free check-ups and medication for nearly 600 individuals from the surrounding region.

The outreach program was conducted following instructions from Dr. Raman Khanna, Director of Ayurveda, and was supervised locally by Dr. Mohan Kaushal. Medical officers at the camp mentioned that the high patient volume reflects a growing trust in traditional healing methods among the public. A total of 317 people visited the Ayurvedic section, while the Homeopathy wing attended to 277 patients.

“Ayurveda OPD was done by Dr. Savita Kaundal and by Dr. Amanpreet Kaur,” a representative of the health team mentioned. He noted that the distribution of medicines was carried out efficiently by the technical staff to ensure every attendee received their required treatment. Homeopathic doctors Dr. Rajneet and Dr. Davinder Kaur were also cited for their role in examining the diverse patient pool.

Department officials mentioned that the success of the camp at Dharamshala Challela underscores the importance of community-based health interventions. By providing these services free of cost, the department mentioned that it aims to alleviate the financial burden on rural families while educating them on the preventive aspects of Ayurveda and Homeopathy.
