Ambala, Feb 17: Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij has suffered fractures in both of his feet following a slipping incident at his residence. Medical professionals confirmed that the injuries are located around the ankles, leading to both of the minister’s legs being placed in plaster casts.
The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has been advised to observe a period of rest to allow the fractures to heal properly. Despite the physical limitations, the minister is expected to continue his official responsibilities by holding essential meetings from his home during the recovery process.
“With plaster in both legs, the stalwart BJP minister is expected to operate from his office and hold important meetings from home,” officials stated regarding the transition to remote work.
This is not the first instance of the minister managing injuries while maintaining his professional schedule. Last year, Vij sustained a fracture in the thumb of his left foot but remained active in party programs and government meetings before the injury was formally diagnosed.
Medical examinations at that time were only sought after persistent pain and swelling occurred. “The fracture was confirmed only after persistent pain and swelling prompted him to undergo an X-ray examination,” sources maintained.
Current plans indicate that the minister will oversee department functions and coordinate with staff through digital and home-based setups. His office affirmed that governance matters would proceed without significant interruption as he adheres to the medical recovery plan.
