CHANDIGARH, March 24: Punjab is expected to host the Asian Hockey Championship for the first time in over four decades, marking a significant milestone in the state’s current sports revolution. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will address the media in Chandigarh today to share the framework for the event and further sports-related updates.
The state’s leadership has linked the hosting bid to a broader strategy of youth engagement and professional security for athletes. Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian maintained that the youth of Punjab will now have more prominent platforms to shine in the sports fields.
