CHANDIGARH, APRIL 2: Industrial conglomerate Jogindra Group is set to accelerate Punjab’s economic growth through a strategic ₹1,100 crore expansion plan. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that the investment will focus on strengthening the steel manufacturing sector and expanding the state’s renewable energy capabilities.

Arora stated that the expansion will provide a substantial boost to local livelihoods, with the workforce projected to increase by 1,200 new positions. He affirmed that the group, which has maintained a presence in North India since 1992, is positioning itself for a major scale-up under the leadership of CMD Adarsh Garg and Directors Sanjay Gupta and Nimit Gupta.

“Renewable energy capacity will expand from 37 MW to 120 MW,” Arora asserted, noting the importance of the ₹400 crore investment in Jogindra Green India. He declared that this shift aligns with the state’s broader push for a green energy transition and sustainable industrial practices.

The Minister maintained that the revival of Mandi Gobindgarh is a central pillar of Punjab’s industrial strategy. He noted that the area, long considered the backbone of the steel industry, is being transformed through new investments and more efficient production technologies.

Arora affirmed that the state continues to attract significant interest from large-scale manufacturers. He stated that the government’s focus remains on providing a conducive environment for industry while encouraging investments that are environmentally responsible and economically impactful.
