Police authorities in Punjab launched an investigation involving two Canadian citizens, Kamalpreet Singh Khehra and Crispy Khehra, following a complaint regarding an unfulfilled salon franchise arrangement in Canada. NRI Wing officials confirmed that an initial probe led to the registration of the case, with the complete sequence of events currently under review.
The complainant alleged that substantial financial contributions were collected to build outlets and stock inventory for the brand’s international footprint. However, the proposed expansion failed to progress, leaving the initial investment unreturned. The complainant asserted that multiple overseas investors located in cities like London, Brampton, Calgary, and Vancouver were similarly impacted by the unmet commitments.
Police representative Jagjit Singh Walia affirmed that officers are proceeding with a comprehensive examination of all statements and documents. He declared that legal procedures will strictly follow the findings of the ongoing enquiry to ensure a fair resolution.
Meanwhile, salon founder Munish Bajaj maintained his innocence, stating that the franchise holder acted on an independent basis. He affirmed that he did not receive investor funds or enter into the mentioned contract with the complainant, adding that he had separately approached authorities to report his side of the issue.
