Civic authorities across Haryana issued notices to striking sanitation personnel, asking them to rejoin work by September 5 following state administration orders.
The directives issued by the Urban Local Bodies Department instruct regional municipal leaders to ensure staff return to their posts to restore public cleanliness services. The state indicated that legal framework under essential services legislation applies to the situation.
Satyendra Duhan, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Rohtak, stated that the municipal authority was executing the issued instructions.
The department noted that sanitation services come under statutory obligations vital to public health. Officials pointed out that the ongoing work stoppage, organized in association with the Nagar Palika Karamchari Sangh, began on August 6 without official clearance.
State representatives declared that ensuring uninterrupted sanitation services remains essential to prevent health risks across urban centers. Administration officials maintained that appropriate steps are being taken to ensure smooth public utility management.
