HARYANA: Fear gripped the Model Town locality of Yamunanagar early Thursday after a local businessman was gunned down in broad daylight outside a gymnasium.
Harbhajan Singh, 65, who managed a finance and transport enterprise in the city, was assassinated by two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle. The incident occurred in the morning when Singh concluded his workout session and exited the gym premises around 7:50 AM. The waiting assailants quickly fired multiple shots directly at Singh and zoomed away from the crime spot.
The victim was transported to the civil hospital, but could not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead by the doctors. While the motive behind the murder remains unclear, police have registered a case and deployed teams to investigate. Authorities are placing a heavy reliance on CCTV footage retrieved from the gym and surrounding establishments to track down the fleeing suspects.
