Middle East Flight Disruptions Lead to Air India Service Scale-Down

Airline Offers Refunds as Key Regional Routes Remain Suspended

by TheReportingTimes

New Delhi, April 5: Air India Group is set to operate a limited slate of 32 flights to and from West Asia this Sunday as it navigates prevailing operational challenges in the region. The airline declared that its UAE operations would see a slight decrease in ad hoc services, focusing primarily on connections to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah from various Indian hubs.

In an official statement, the carrier affirmed that 12 of the day’s 32 flights are non-scheduled operations. The airline asserted that while it aims to maintain connectivity, the flights are highly dependent on the “prevailing operational conditions” and the granting of slots by local regulators.

“The airline is proactively reaching out to affected passengers through registered mobile numbers to provide rebooking options,” Air India stated. Travelers were advised to ensure their contact information is current to receive immediate updates regarding their itineraries.

The regional outlook remains mixed, as the airline declared that scheduled services to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Muscat would proceed. However, the carrier affirmed that several major destinations, including Tel Aviv, Bahrain, Doha, and Kuwait, remain entirely off the schedule. Additionally, services to Salalah and Dammam have not yet been restored.

Despite the turbulence in West Asia, Air India affirmed that its global network is otherwise stable. The airline declared that flights to Australia, Europe, and North America continue to operate without disruption. To assist those caught in the regional cancellations, the group asserted that it is providing full refunds and allowing passengers to move to alternative flights within the network without incurring extra fees.
