New Delhi/Chandigarh, April 9: Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu has topped the performance charts for Punjab’s representatives in the 2026 Budget Session, reaching the maximum allowable limit for both questions filed and Private Member Bills introduced. The Rajya Sabha MP’s tenure during the session was marked by a perfect attendance record and a significant focus on issues impacting the common man and the agricultural sector.
The MP’s legislative output included 51 formal questions, the highest number among all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members from Punjab. These questions were strategically distributed to cover critical sectors, with 14 inquiries dedicated to education, technology, and youth entrepreneurship, and seven focused on agricultural welfare. Sandhu also raised seven distinct issues through Zero Hour interventions and Special Mentions to highlight urgent public matters.
In addition to his questioning, Sandhu moved three distinct Private Member Bills, focusing on NRI talent development, agricultural accident compensation, and educational accreditation standards. His participation in the Union Budget debates further underscored his role in the session, as he provided detailed commentary during the Appropriation Bill discussions.
“Maintaining a record of full attendance and active participation is a fundamental duty toward the people,” Sandhu declared when reflecting on the session’s conclusion. His performance has been noted by analysts as a benchmark for proactive representation, particularly regarding his consistent focus on the specific developmental requirements of Punjab and Chandigarh. Officials asserted that this level of dedication helps ensure that the voices of the state’s residents are heard at the highest levels of governance.
