AAP Criticizes Akali Leadership Following Councillor’s Arrest in Moga

Baltej Pannu Questions SAD Silence After Sex Racket Allegations Surface

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 17 — The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a sharp critique of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) following the arrest of a Moga-based Municipal Councillor in connection with a sex racket. AAP Punjab State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu stated Thursday that the incident, involving Akali leader Jagjit Singh Jeeta, exposes the reality behind the party’s current political campaigns.

The arrest occurred during a police raid at a hotel owned by Jeeta, where several women, including a minor, were reportedly rescued. Pannu maintained that the presence of senior Akali leaders in recent photographs with the accused during the “Punjab Bachao Yatra” raises serious questions about the party’s associations. He asserted that the silence of the SAD leadership since the arrest suggests a lack of accountability for the conduct of their representatives.

“Those whose hands are stained with activities that push innocent girls into darkness have no right to talk about saving Punjab,” Pannu declared in a video message. He further stated that the party’s history has been repeatedly marred by allegations involving various mafias and illegal trades, describing the recent scandal as part of a troubling pattern.

Affirming the state government’s stance on crime, the media in-charge noted that the administration led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann remains committed to impartial law enforcement. He asserted that no individual, regardless of their political influence, would be spared if found guilty of criminal activities. Pannu concluded by declaring that the public must remain vigilant against forces that prioritize personal greed over social morality.
