Arora challenges Ravneet Bittu to prove land allegations

‘Rules Were Changed for One Brother While Martyr Families Were Ignored,’ Asserts Punjab Minister Arora

CHANDIGARH, MAY 29 — Challenging the political integrity of Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, Punjab State AAP President Aman Arora on Thursday rejected a series of recent public accusations, labeling them as structured misdirection intended to obscure family favoritism.

Speaking to reporters, Arora addressed personal comments regarding his late father, Shri Bhagwan Dass Arora, and detailed the long-term family disputes that underly the opposition’s current talking points. Arora stated that his father’s past struggles with severe depression were directly tied to family interventions by individuals now assisting Bittu’s media campaign, adding that his family has spent nearly two decades navigating these social and political challenges.

“Whether I am an unworthy son or a worthy one, you will have to go up and ask my late father, or come to Sunam and ask my ailing mother,” Arora remarked, noting that his elderly mother is currently recovering from surgery.

Arora directed attention toward Bittu’s past administrative record, specifically challenging the 2017 recruitment of the union minister’s brother into the Punjab Police as a DSP. Arora stated that while the state treasury continues to fund that specific position, the wider group of security personnel who lost their lives in the service of the state during the exact same period were never granted equivalent institutional access or rule waivers for their households.

The cabinet minister also rejected criticisms regarding his living arrangements in Chandigarh, contrasting his tenure in rented accommodations with Bittu’s highly publicized history with government properties. Arora noted that the public witnessed the union minister’s legal difficulties when he was required to clear upwards of ₹2 crore in back rent and secure an official clearance certificate from the state government prior to entering recent election cycles.

“Wherever I have lived, I have lived with self-respect and dignity,” Arora stated, maintaining that he has never utilized political influence to unlawfully occupy government assets.

Regarding housing department operations, Arora reiterated that his official record remains entirely transparent. He concluded the briefing by inviting the union minister to inspect any land registry records across the state, promising an immediate property transfer if a single instance of improper influence or illegal acquisition could be verified by independent monitors.
