NEW DELHI, JUNE 1: The geographical scope of the upcoming ballots spans various regions, featuring a 24-seat biennial election cycle crossing 10 states for the Rajya Sabha. The Commission also slated single bye-elections for parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Maharashtra, while Bihar’s legislative council prepares for 10 seat changes and Karnataka opens up seven council seats.
According to the official schedule, registration doors opened at 11 a.m. on Monday, establishing a rigid week-long submission pipeline.
“The last date to file nomination is June 8, 3pm,” the poll panel declared, clarifying that reviews would take place the following morning.
Once the June 11 deadline for dropping out of the races passes, the focus shifts entirely to the June 18 mobilization. Commission representatives stated that the 8-hour voting window concludes late in the afternoon, paving the way for immediate analytical tallies to finalize the winners before nightfall.
