The Cockroach Janata Party received a single-use permit from the Delhi Police to hold a public demonstration at Jantar Mantar beginning at 10 a.m. Local authorities responded by reinforcing security checkposts at transit hubs, airport exits, and city borders to monitor incoming student delegations from various regions.
“We seek minimum accountability from this system where rot has set in,” party spokesperson Saurav Das stated during a briefing ahead of the rally. He affirmed that the demonstration is strictly focused on systemic failures, specifically citing structural problems within competitive national exams and school grading boards.
The organization emerged weeks ago in response to remarks comparing struggling youth to insects, turning the slight into a unifying digital brand that attracted over 15 million social media followers. Movement coordinators emphasized that the event will remain strictly non-partisan, requesting attendees to leave institutional banners at home and focus purely on educational accountability.
Central Delhi transit routes are expected to face notable congestion throughout the afternoon as security cordons filter pedestrian crowds heading toward the venue. Police officials urged travelers to adjust their schedules and utilize public transit lines to bypass the barricaded corridors around the protest site.
