Chandigarh, June 6: An extensive cash assistance program designed to support nearly all adult women in Punjab will formally launch its payment phase at the beginning of July, according to state officials.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the finalized timeline for the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna on Friday after examining registration figures gathered from regional district offices. The social protection plan guarantees a monthly allowance of ₹1,000 for standard qualified applicants, alongside an enhanced monthly allocation of ₹1,500 specifically designated for Scheduled Caste beneficiaries.
“The financial assistance may not make women rich, but it will provide them with dignity and self-respect,” Mann declared during an administrative briefing in Chandigarh. “Strengthening women’s financial autonomy is essential for improving household welfare.”
The policy permits households to secure multiple individual allowances, allowing qualified family members to stack the cash grants on top of existing older-age or disability state pensions. Field reports indicate that daily enrollment numbers have climbed rapidly due to coordinated operations handled by thousands of localized welfare agents.
State coordinators have utilized municipal infrastructure, utilizing decentralized hubs set up by local Deputy Commissioners to gather verification files. Officials noted that the massive registration machinery will continue operating through the coming weeks to capture all eligible residents before the initial funds clear next month.
