Chandigarh, June 15: The Bhagwant Mann Government has finalized plans to expand the Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojna, bringing major out-of-state religious destinations under its fully funded travel program. The revised policy introduces specialized transit lines to Salasar Balaji Dham and Sri Khatu Shyam Ji in Rajasthan, Haridwar-Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, and the Mathura-Vrindavan Dham circuit in Uttar Pradesh. Administrative leaders stated that the policy ensures that economic barriers do not prevent citizens from fulfilling their long-held spiritual aspirations.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal noted that while the state is managing standard governance responsibilities, it remains equally committed to honoring important historical milestones. He stated that the administration recently marked the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with deep reverence and is now organizing grand celebrations for the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj. He maintained that these efforts, combined with substantial monetary allocations for religious landmarks, reflect the administration’s respect for the state’s diverse spiritual legacy.
Detailing the physical upgrades, Arvind Kejriwal noted that the ongoing 85 crore rupee restoration of the Maa Kali Devi Mandir in Patiala is progressing rapidly toward its September target. He stated that the shrine draws people from all across northern India who seek solace and blessings. To complement these permanent structural developments, the state is also initiating community-focused cultural programming. A special spiritual evening event was organized at the Sai Dass Ground, and beginning in late July, acclaimed actor Ashutosh Rana’s renowned three-hour play based on ancient epic narratives will be staged entirely free of cost for public audiences in various cities.
The luxury transport network will utilize a modern fleet of passenger vehicles to ensure a seamless travel experience. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and party leadership noted that traveling together in blocks of 30 to 40 people creates a beautiful collective environment where passengers share meals and devotional songs throughout the journey. The administration confirmed that a specialized management system has been instituted to oversee the upcoming routes, ensuring that all logistics, accommodation, and safety parameters are fully streamlined for the senior citizens and families participating in the scheme.
