CHANDIGARH, June 24: Ongoing partnerships between district administrations and specialized support groups have significantly strengthened the post-treatment framework of Punjab’s healthcare campaign. Under the ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ initiative led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Narcotics Anonymous meetings are being conducted through Hospital and Institution panels across thirteen districts. The program aims to establish an enduring safety net for individuals transitioning out of medical de-addiction centers by utilizing the proven methodology of shared experiences and peer mentorship.
Clinical experts involved in the campaign asserted that bridging the gap between medical detoxification and social reintegration is critical for permanent recovery. Representatives from the fellowship stated that the only requirement for participation is a genuine intent to overcome dependency, with strict anonymity maintained to encourage open dialogue. The administration has reordered its rehabilitation priorities to ensure these group sessions run parallel to formal counseling, creating a positive chain reaction among participants.
“Peer groups share the positive changes that have taken place in their lives after quitting drugs, and that inspires others to follow the same path. Attending meetings initially is essential. If one is regular in such meetings, it means one is closer to de-addiction,” affirmed Amanpreet Kaur, a counselor at the Ludhiana De-addiction Centre.
The expanding network is progressively extending its reach, with organizers focusing on rural sectors to maintain the progress achieved by the anti-drug campaign. Officials declared that the collaboration between local authorities and recovery volunteers continues to provide an effective, community-driven deterrent against the cycle of addiction.
