Chandigarh, June 26: A manhunt is underway for suspended bureaucrat Pardeep Kumar after he went missing amid an ongoing federal investigation into a massive financial scandal. The former Haryana Civil Services officer, who rose to the IAS cadre after starting his career in 1999, has disconnected all communication channels to avoid apprehension.

The enforcement actions escalated rapidly after the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI uncovered an intricate network used to drain state treasuries. Central investigators declared that the fraudulent scheme redirected immense state resources into private shell firms with the help of compromised data entry operators and bank personnel.

A significant portion of the unauthorized transactions took place while the missing bureaucrat managed financial portfolios at the state pollution control board. “Kumar had been missing from his home, was on the run while his phone was also switched off,” a CBI official asserted during an update on the tracking operations.

The state administration has already sanctioned deeper corruption inquiries into other high-ranking personnel, including former board chairmen. Authorities declared that with two senior officers already behind bars and five others facing imminent arrest, the government is utilizing all available resources to locate the missing official and recover the siphoned public assets.
