Protesting PSTET Candidates Seek Job Letters Instead of Cash Schemes

Educated Youth Term Government Employment True Dignity in Malwa Stir

Moga, July 6: Scores of qualified teachers under the 5178 recruitment banner held a demonstration in Moga, turning down the financial aid provided through the Mother Daughters Satkar Yojana and demanding their formal joining letters instead. The protestors clarified that true state honor corresponds to legitimate employment rather than temporary financial doles.

The issue stems from historical evaluation anomalies in the state teacher eligibility test conducted over a decade ago. Although the evaluation errors from the 2011 test were rectified later in 2017, the recruitment process failed to accommodate the revised merit scores, bypassing hundreds of deserving applicants.

“Despite securing higher merit in the selection process, hundreds of eligible individuals remain empty-handed due to past official lapses,” Inderpal asserted while addressing reporters. He also conveyed his gratitude to media houses for allowing the affected citizens to bring their peaceful struggle into the public eye.

The candidates expressed disappointment over unfulfilled assurances made by political figures before coming to power. Protesters pointed out that the delays have placed immense pressure on their families, causing social and financial setbacks. Inderpal maintained, “We have carried out our struggle with complete peace for an extended period, but our rights are still denied.”

The gathering drew widespread support from applicants traveling across multiple districts, with prominent members like Amarjit Kaur, Jatinder Kaur, Gursaran, Manjot, Ranju, Rajveer Kaur, Neelam, Manpreet Singh, Rajinder Kaur, Pushpinder Singh, Alpinder Kaur, Vandana, and Preetpal Kaur leading the front. The union members declared that they would be forced to intensify their public awareness campaign if the administration delays the issuance of their appointment orders any further.
